THE DESSERT OPACITY CENSURE

Since 2003, it has been unlawful to transport a fruitcake on a plane in Canada. The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority feared that the dark-matter density of fruitcakes and their resulting imperviousness to x-rays would make it too easy to smuggle weapons or explosives within them. While a close inspection would in many cases be able to distinguish the pastry from a deadly weapon, the agency does not want to expend the additional time required to perform such a review.
